Hey everyone! My name is Ashley Tallas, and I am a Canadian Beachbody Coach living in Australia! I’m also a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist with a love for film and television acting, salsa dancing, food and fitness, traveling, and pursuing big DREAMS. I became a Beachbody Coach in March of 2013, when I was visiting my family in Canada for the first time since my big move ACROSS THE WORLD. Has it been easy? Not really. I’ve been far away from the people I grew up with, and who I love and care for most. Has it been worth it? Absolutely, but I’ll get in to that later on in my blog.
As I mentioned earlier, I live in Australia so social networking is a MUST. I absolutely love what I do. I love to help motivate and support people, and help people realize their true potential and love for life. I also love pushing boundaries when it comes to comfort zones, because most of the time CHANGE happens outside of the comfort zone.
Let me take a few moments to share my story with you. Genetically, I may be predisposed to some medical issues if I don’t take care of what I eat, or if I don’t exercise regularly, so I want to take care of my body so it can take care of me!
Back in 2011 I decided to do P90X during college because I was tired, and I wasn’t happy with the way I looked and felt. I couldn’t go up stairs without getting out of breath. I had let myself gain 15 pounds since high school caused by stress, lack of exercise and unfortunately having poor eating habits. It got to the point where I knew I needed to change, and that’s when I came across the P90X fitness DVDs at the local drugstore during lunch. At that point I decided to buy it, and felt like a kid in a candy shop. I committed myself 100% to both the P90X diet and the workouts and that’s when my whole life changed. My colleagues and coworkers noticed straight away that I was getting a tighter and more defined body, and it made me feel awesome to hear about it!It inspired me to want to continue on…
The truth is I gave up twice before finally finishing P90X without getting stressed to sickness, injured, or letting my excuses get in the way of my results. It’s strange to feel so vulnerable, but it’s the truth. It wasn’t until I stopped letting excuses control my life, and I listened to my body by making myself my number one priority (fitness for an hour a day, drinking Shakeology daily) that I finally graduated a Team Beachbody program. I remember being so frustrated to the point that I just wanted to cry because I felt like I was torturing myself (not true), but then I’d just get it done and feel 100% better for doing it and realized that working out actually made the rest of my “problems” melt away. Being able to commit to myself made me feel important because I was dedicating time, effort, money, and health into myself so that I could last longer and not be predisposed to the health disorders that I’ve seen my grandparents deal with.
It took serious commitment, and I’m super grateful that my coach Stacey reached out to me to hold me accountable, and that my supportive friends helped me get through it as well. Now, I want to pay it forward by helping others the way I’ve been helped because my life has done a 180° turn and I’m never going back to the way I used to be.
I decided to try new programs! After I got unbelievable Insanity results, I developed a passion for health and fitness, and all I wanted to do was help everyone that I knew achieve results like I did with a support system like the one my coach provided me. I then released my Insanity to Asylum transformation photos, and hundreds of people contacted me each week asking for help, and it wasn’t shortly after that I decided to become a Beachbody Coach. I have always been passionate about helping others, and becoming a Beachbody Coach allowed me to have a positive impact on others’ lives. Half a year later, I have been able to help 100+ people change their lives with Beachbody programs!
